My honest BibBoards review of bibSNAPS after wearing them at the Popcorn 5 Miler and the Fort Ben Half Marathon. What bibSNAPS are, how they snap onto your race bib without safety pins, why they are better than safety pins for your running clothes, and whether I recommend them for runners who race.
No more safety pins, no more tiny holes in my favorite running clothes: my honest review after two races
The bibSNAPS BibBoards sent me to try. 📌
Disclosure: BibBoards sent me free product to review. I’m not being paid for this post. I bought my first bibSNAPS with my own money about a year before they reached out, and all opinions here are my own.
If you’ve ever pinned a race bib to your shirt, you know the drill: four safety pins, a few pokes to your fingers, and then, a few washes later, tiny holes in a shirt you actually liked. In this BibBoards review, I’m sharing what their bibSNAPS are, how they work, and how they held up at two of my races this fall.
What Are BibBoards bibSNAPS?
BibBoards makes bibSNAPS, reusable clips that hold your race bib in place without safety pins. Instead of poking through your clothes, each clip snaps and locks onto your shirt, sports bra, or shorts with your bib held in between. Once it’s snapped in, the bib stays put.
They’re also a lot more fun than a safety pin. There are tons of designs, so there’s a style for every kind of runner. I especially love the ones with little sayings on them.
Why bibSNAPS Are Better Than Safety Pins
Every runner has used safety pins, and I’m guessing most of us have also dealt with what they leave behind. I know I have. I’ve had leggings rip and shirts I loved end up with holes. It’s such a small thing, but when you spend good money on running clothes, it’s frustrating to watch them get damaged one race at a time.
That’s the biggest reason I switched. bibSNAPS snap onto a plastic piece on the back instead of poking through the fabric, so there’s nothing to tear or puncture your clothes.
The back: the clip snaps into this plastic piece instead of poking through your clothes. 🙌
How I Found Them
A while back, I heard about bibSNAPS on Instagram and bought a few for myself to try. I ended up liking them so much that they became part of my race-day routine. About a year later, the founder of BibBoards reached out and asked if I’d like a free sample to try. How cool is that? It’s the first sample I’ve ever been sent, and it’s extra special that it’s from a brand I already use and love.
Putting Them to the Test
I’ve worn bibSNAPS at quite a few races now, and they’ve never fallen off once. Here are the two most recent.
The Popcorn 5 Miler. A little over a month ago, I wore a pair I already owned at the Popcorn 5 Miler, where I ran a 3-minute PR. I was wearing a thick sports bra that day, and they still worked great. The bib stayed secure the whole race, up a course that was almost entirely hills. (You can read the full Popcorn 5 Miler race recap here.)

The Fort Ben Half Marathon. I wore another pair I own at the Indy Half Marathon at Fort Ben. That’s 13.1 miles on one of the hilliest courses I’ve ever run, and my bib didn’t budge. Best of all, there were no holes in my shirt afterward.

The Designs
One of my favorite things about bibSNAPS is how many designs they have. There really is something for everyone, and the little sayings make them fun to wear. Here’s one of the pairs I own.
One of my own pairs. I love the little sayings. 💬
- No safety pins, so no holes or tears in your running clothes
- They’ve never fallen off for me, even on a thick sports bra or a hilly half marathon
- Reusable, so you’re not hunting for safety pins before every race
- Lots of fun designs and sayings to choose from
Final Thoughts
bibSNAPS are something I genuinely use and have really enjoyed every single time. They work great, they’ve never fallen off, and my running clothes are finally safe on race day. If you’re a runner who does races, I definitely recommend giving them a try.
